2008 Late Harvest Gewürztraminer Sweepstake Winner at 2010 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

The 08 Late Harvest Gewürztraminer wowed the judges and took the Sweepstake award for best dessert wine. The nearly 5,000 wines entered into the competition this year set a world record! 2007 Estate Malbec, 2008 Viognier and 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon were awarded silver medals. 2009 Portland Seafood and Wine Festival Competition

At the 2009 Portland Seafood and Wine Festival Competition held January 23-24 our 2006 Viognier won Silver Medal and our 2005 Syrah and 2005 Estate Midnight Red won Bronze.


2009 Wine Enthusiast Awards

Wine Enthusiast awarded 90 points for our 2006 Estate Midnight Red Wine and 2006 Syrah, 89 points for 2006 Estate Malbec and 88 points for 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon.


2009 San Francisco International Wine Competition Results for Watermill Wines

At the 2009 San Francisco International Wine Competition, we received Gold for our 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2006 Estate Malbec, Silver for our 2008 Late Harvest Gewürztraminer, and Bronze for our 2006 Estate Midnight Red Wine and 2006 Syrah.  It was held June 19th, 20th and 21st at the Hotel Nikko located in downtown San Francisco.

Watermill Winery received three Golds at the 2009 Northwest Wine Summit

Watermill Winery received three Golds at the 2009 Northwest Wine Summit for our 2006 Estate Malbec, 2006 Estate Midnight Red Wine, and 2006 Syrah as well as a Silver for the 2008 Late Harvest Gewurztraminer. The Summit in their fourteenth year, was held at the historic Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood on May 4, 5, and 6, 2009.

Watermill Winery awarded 90 points by Wine Enthusiast
for 2005 Reserve Syrah!

This Syrah is full-bodied with a touch of smoky spice, lilacs and black fruit aromas on the nose. Concentrated flavors of cherry and blackberry with bits of dark chocolate and tobacco. The abundant flavors persist after the wine is gone.


Reserve Syrah Update!

Watermill Winery’s 2005 Reserve Syrah is one of the top 100 Washington Wines for 2008. This honor was awarded by wine writer Paul Gregutt of the Seattle Times. You can view the “Top 100 Washington Wines” on his website.

Watermill Winery’s 2005 Estate Midnight Red Wine
Wins a “Double Gold”
at the 2008 San Francisco International Wine Competition.

Our Estate Midnight Red Wine, crafted from our McClellan vineyard, begins with powerful scents of flowers, blackberry, ripe wild berries, star anise and baking spices. This wine is full-bodied offering layers of ripe black cherry, plum and red berry fruit flavors with a dash of freshly roasted coffee that leads to a long finish.

Watermill Winery’s Anna Marie Estate Vineyard
Wins Distinguished Award!

At the 2009 Ste. Michelle Wine Grower's meeting held in Pasco Washington on Tuesday, March 10th, Watermill Winery’s Anna Marie Estate vineyard received the 2008 “Vineyard of the Year Award.” This represented the fruit harvested at Anna Marie Vineyard for Northstar Winery’s 2005 Merlot, receiver of 92 points from Wine Advocate. Northstar Winery, producer of premium wines, is owned by Ste. Michelle. Watermill Winery has continued to contract grapes with Northstar from Anna Marie Vineyard since 2001.
